IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Winter Testing

Prior to ALMS winter testing at Sebring, the GT3 Challenge cars run for two days. They share track time with the Cooper Prototype Lights, with each series alternating hour time slots. This year there were twenty-three GT3s on the entry list and at times it seemed like they were all on the track at once. This was good, since it can be trying to have only a couple of cars circulating. I didn’t spend a huge amount of time out on the track but concentrated on shooting the pits since that was where the cars spent the most time. NGT was there with at least five cars; AJR and TRG were well represented also.  Muscle Milk has added a car to the fray and had Klaus splitting seat time with Markku.

Using the testing as an indicator, the 2011 season will be hotly contested.  If you attend any ALMS racing weekends this year, you need to make sure to watch at least one of the two forty-five minute races they will run.  They also will be at The Utah Grand Prix and are running during the F1 weekend at Montreal.

I also shot the two day ALMS winter tests and will post about that soon.  My complete GT3 Winter Test Gallery is available at DPerceptions MotorSports Photography.  Thanks for looking!
